FACILITIES MAINTENANCE TECHNICAN- 4-12 PMResponsibilities:Lead or assist in general plant maintenance tasks for maintenance & upkeep of plant support equipment such as boilers, condensate pumps, air compressors, air dryers, vacuum pumps, HVAC, etc. Repair & perform PMs on various pumps and compressors used for Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG). Repair carbon steel or stainless piping used for compressed air, steam, various chemicals and liquid products. Perform LPG changeover from bulk tanks, drop trailers, manifolds, high pressure pumps & propellant charging rooms. Perform LPG blending operation using load cell based weighing system Stick, MIG, TIG welding on various projects as needed Perform boiler daily maintenance tasks as needed. Schedule boiler inspections and any contract maintenance tasks. Ensure safety of LPG and chemical storage tank farm. Perform any duties as assigned by the Manager. Qualification Standards:Over five years’ experience in a manufacturing environment such as a liquid filling & packaging plant or a chemical processing plant. Understanding of basic operation & maintenance of centrifugal, positive displacement, diaphragm and reciprocating high pressure pumps is desired. Practical experience & understanding of the requirements for safe handling of Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) & flammable chemicals is desired. Experienced in operation & minor maintenance of low pressure steam boilers Experienced in basic operation & minor maintenance of air compressors & compressed air distribution system Understanding of principles & operation of LPG, compressed air & steam piping. Familiarity with emergency response procedures (training will be provided) Fork Lift driving experience is desired (training can be provided as needed) Hazardous Material Handling Training (training will be provided as needed) Gas House Safety System Training (training will be provided as needed) Familiarity with cGMP standards (training will be provided as needed) Physical Demands & Work EnvironmentThis person will spend most of their time in an outside work area in the tank farm. This position is for shift work & the person is expected to be available to work 1st, 2nd or 3rd shift. Person should be able to climb on extension ladders, work from elevated platforms, from top of the above ground tanks and from articulating boom lifts as needed. Person should be able to reach tight & difficult to access areas. This position requires up to 8 or more hours of standing on the feet & walking from job site to job site within the plant and outside in the tank farm. This person should be able to lift 20-50 lb weight as needed. Exposure to flammable & combustible liquids & gases as part of day to day operation.
