 As the Outreach Specialist, you’ll have a dynamic and critical role working in our Supportive Services for Veteran Families program and supporting the well-being and stability of veterans and their families who are homeless or experiencing housing instability. Our programs help veterans reach their goals and achieve wellness through a client-centered, trauma-informed framework. As part of our veteran’s service team, the Outreach Specialist will make a difference in the lives of our clients by establishing a supportive relationship and connecting veterans to resources in order to maintain or obtain permanent housing. This position will work with our community partners to identify veterans who are in need of services to support their stability by developing and maintaining relationships with community-based programs, hospitals, continuums of care, housing authorities, and emergency shelters. 

This role is about making a difference in the lives of the people we serve. You’ll bring the following qualifications: 

o BA/AA degree preferred; however, a minimum of 2 years related experience in a case management role may be substituted. 

o Knowledge of veteran issues, homelessness, and state & Federal resources highly preferred.

Hours:

Full-Time – Monday through Friday. This position is hybrid with time split working remotely and time spent working in VOAMASS Quincy offices.

 Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform and lead others in outreach, engagement and advocacy in all Supportive Services for Veteran Families service areas.
  • Complete schedules, logs and reports on outreach, including data on referral, intake, assessment and disposition/assignment.
  • Complete all pre-screen, threshold, and enrollment forms and secure related eligibility documents for veteran clients 
  • Work collaboratively with VOMASS Case Managers to identify relevant service categories, service options and service priorities.
  • Develop and maintain linkages and contact with collaterals
  • Build a strong network of referral sources to generate a quantifiable flow of referrals.
  • Participate regularly in team meetings, and in external meetings when assigned.
  • Performs related duties as required
