Position: Teaching Assistant (RFR553) Summary: The assistant teacher is responsible for assisting in the classroom operations of a daycare program in a family residence. Minimum Qualifications: The position requires high school plus two years’ experience in a child care setting. Supervisory Role: This position does not have supervisory responsibilities. Principal Responsibilities: The below enumerated principal responsibilities are inclusive of both program specific and firm-wide related administration, as applicable. Assist in creating an instructional environment that fosters learning and growth. Assist in classroom activities on a daily basis. Help to evaluate student progress on an ongoing basis, maintaining necessary records. Assess developmental functioning and learning skills of students in all areas, at regularly planned intervals. Perform other related duties as requested. Expected Results of Principal Responsibilities: Learning and growth are promoted. Classroom activities are monitored. Student progress is monitored. Assessments are completed and logged timely. All other related tasks are completed on time and accurately. Work Environment: While performing the duties of the job, the employee will be in a residential housing shelter environment. Physical Demands: While performing the duties of the job, the employee is regularly required to have visual acuity, talk and hear while communicating with peers, clients and/or vendors. This position requires sitting, standing and walking. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move items up to 20 pounds. Position Type: This is a full – time position.
