Position: Recovery Coordinator The Recovery Coordinator will assist the program in providing treatment services by engaging clients to further their acceptance of services and aids staff in understanding the clients’ issues. Along with the team as a whole, provides follow up services to assure compliance with the service plan. Acts as a role model for the population serviced. Wales Avenue Residence provides safe and supportive housing to two vulnerable populations: chronically homeless adults who struggle with a serious mental illness and/or substance use issues, and young adults who suffer from a mental illness and lack a support system, have one or more behavioral health disorders, or have recently aged out of foster care and are at risk of being homeless. Minimum Qualifications: Minimum educational requirement is an Associate degree. CASAC preferred. The Recovery Coordinator must have life experience with the service systems utilized by the target population. Must be flexible due to the Program is residential in nature and requires 24-hour coverage, and the assignment of staff to each shift is guided by criteria developed to meet the needs of the specific individual program. Valid NYS Driver’s License preferred. Recovery Coordinator Principal Responsibilities: Engage individual and provide non-clinical assistance and recovery support. Assist with obtaining necessary client information to ensure appropriate services. Reinforce, guide, and ensure clients that recovery is possible and is built on multiple strength and coping abilities Participate in case conferences, schedule appointments for clients and follow-up on appointment attendance. Facilitate or co-facilitate groups and workshops. Perform other related duties as requested.
