Vizion Health is Hiring a Recreational Therapist Near Norman, OK
Position Summary:Responsible for coordination and provision of therapeutic recreation for assigned clients.Clients present with various psychiatric diagnoses, in addition to other developmental or behavioral issues which impact their daily functioning.Specialist with the desire to work with children/adolescents. Works closely with Clinical Director and Therapists to assure patients are receiving therapeutic recreation which meets their needs.
Minimum Qualifications:
Education:Bachelor’s degree in Recreation Management & Recreation Therapy
Certification: National Council for Therapeutic Recreation Certification through the Oklahoma State Board of Medical Licensure and Supervision
Experience:One year of experience providing therapeutic activities in an inpatient behavioral health setting is preferred.
Other:Ability to communicate information and ideas clearly, concisely, and effectively, in both verbal and written formats.Ability to interact appropriately and maintain therapeutic boundaries with patients of all ages and functional abilities. Knowledge of crisis prevention / intervention techniques. Basic knowledge of psychiatric, addictive disease, and developmental diagnoses and treatment. Ability to understand DSM-IV terminology
