Position Summary:

Vizgen is seeking a Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to partner with our President & Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and executive Leadership Team to develop and manage the Company’s growth strategy. The ideal candidate brings successful leadership experience in finance, accounting and operations in the life sciences tools industry. The Company is seeking a seasoned and polished professional who is experienced in raising capital and working directly with Boards of Directors, Wall Street bankers, analysts and investors. In addition to strategic development, the CFO will be accountable for the administrative, financial and risk management operations of the company, including the development of Company’s financial and commercial plan and infrastructure.

Responsibilities:

• Act as a strategic business partner to the leadership team; assess organizational performance and financial performance against the annual budget, prior year results and the company’s long-term strategy
• Build and manage the Finance team and other supporting infrastructure
• Advise on business strategies and business model improvements that increase efficiency and value of the Company
• Support or lead capital raising, M&A and/or corporate partnering activities to enable the company to meet growth objectives
• IPO readiness including leading preparation of public company filings, compliance, investor relations support and long-range planning
• Develop and implement tools and systems to provide critical financial and operational information and make actionable recommendations to leadership team and board on both strategy and operations
• Board, Audit, Compensation, and Corporate Governance committee meeting preparation, support and attendance
• Oversee long-term budgetary planning and cost management in alignment with the company’s strategic plans
• Stock option plan management and capitalization table management
• Participate in supplier contract negotiation and cost reduction planning
• Represent the company to business partners, analysts, investors, including financial institutions and auditors
• Serve as a key leader in culture development to support organizational expansion.

Requirements and Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree required. Degrees in Business, Accounting, Economics, Management or similar are preferred. MBA and/or CPA are ideal.
• Minimum of 10 years’ experience in Life Sciences (tools, biotech, pharma, med device, diagnostics, or Health IT) required.
• Minimum of 10 years’ experience in an operational/analytical or strategic/technical problem solving financial leadership position
• Experience as both a strategic thought leader to help drive corporate initiatives and a willingness and ability to switch to hands on leader as necessary.
• Startup experience is required.
• Public company CFO experience within the life sciences (biotech/pharma/med device) highly desired
• Investment Banking/Wall Street related experience highly valued.
• Strong experience in all stages of growth with specific expertise in leading the preparation for and process of an IPO is required.
• Experience with mergers, acquisitions and partnering activities.
• Excellent communicator and effective in presenting financial and strategic information

• Ability to engage and lead effectively in a hybrid work environment
