Job Summary: 

The Shipping & Receiving Specialist will be responsible for shipping and receiving activities, monitoring and tracking shipments, maintaining and communicating the shipping/receiving corporate policy, and assisting in some facilities related activities.  

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Manage shipping/receiving operations and procedures 
• Maintain inventory of outgoing shipments 
• Successful use of procurement system for package control
• Communicate with multiple functional areas as required for accurate documentation, delivery and control
• International/ domestic shipments:
  • Properly package cold shipments (Dry Ice, package manifest, etc.) 
  • Communicate effectively with customs and end users 
  • Transport packages to Fedex for drop off when necessary 
  • Track shipments to over package life-cycle

Experience and education requirements: 
 

• Associate or bachelor’s degree and 6-8 years of shipping and receiving experience preferably in the biotech or pharmaceutical industry
• Attention to detail and exceptional organizational skills
• Proactive in identifying issues and takes the initiative to identify solutions
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Technologically savvy and able to learn new software quickly
• Intermediate-to-Advanced Excel skills
• Highly motivated with a desire to grow with the company
