Vitalant Research Institute in San Francisco, California is seeking a talented, highly motivated Research Associate II to join the Immunology Core with flow cytometry experience. The lab focuses on high-throughput immune assays including cell phenotyping and sorting and soluble biomarkers of immune response detection.

The ideal candidate will have experience in flow cytometry, cell sorting, panels preparation and troubleshooting and will work collaboratively with the different research groups in the Institute. Excellent written and oral communication skills, record keeping and logical troubleshooting capabilities are required. Must be able to work independently and be highly detail oriented.

Required Qualifications

• BA/BS degree with a major in the biological sciences, e.g. immunology, cell biology, molecular biology, general biology
• Experience with flow cytometry (spectral flow preferred)
• Demonstrated ability to perform standard data analysis
• Demonstrated ability to multi-task
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
• Ability to work both independently and in teams
• Preferred qualifications:
• Background in immunology
• Experience with immunoassays (ELISA, EIA or Luminex)
• Experienced in record keeping and GCLP/GLP compliance
• Knowledge of specialized software for molecular biology, statistical, and graphing software (e.g. Prism GraphPad, FlowJo etc.)
