Role

Vital Proteins is looking for an experienced internal Paralegal to join our team! The role will be responsible providing day to day support to the business through contract review, drafting, and management, performing legal research, regulatory, and support legal departments, and support legal department operations and administration. This role will be hybrid and operate from the Vital Proteins headquarters office in the West Loop and report to General Counsel.

What you will be responsible for:

• Administrator for contract management system, ensuring complete and accurate company and contract records, leveraging system functionality, and generating insights where possible
• Legal support of vendor contracting process, including intake, populating templates, liaising with all internal stakeholders, drafting, and revising documents, and securing electronic signatures
• Support company growth and execution through special projects
• Prepare, review, and negotiate customer contracts and sub-contracts for the execution of said contracts, including drafting and issuing addendums, revisions, renewals, and terminations
• Ability to independently draft letters, contracts, internal corporate documents, formal notifications to customers and vendors
• Proactively track and monitor open matters/projects and communicate effectively with key stakeholders
• Submit product information as directed to trade associations and government agencies - Coordinate approval of trademark and licensing agreement

Who you are:

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Law, Legal Studies or Paralegal Certification preferred.
• 5 years’ experience working in a corporate setting performing similar functions
• Experience drafting and reviewing contracts for review by attorneys and corporate deal documents
• Prior in-house experience at a CPG brand preferred
• Strong analytical and writing skills
• Working knowledge of financial statements and processes
• Ability to work cross-functionally and cross-departmentally
• A strong communicator with the ability to build trust and rapport at every organizational level
• The ideal candidate will report proactively on project statuses 
• You are passionate about the health, fitness, and/or beauty markets
