Vita Therapeutics is Hiring a Clinical Project Manager Near Baltimore, MD

Vita Therapeutics, is a cell engineering company harnessing the power of genetics to develop cellular therapies that follow a dual manufacturing strategy, first beginning autologously before moving to a universal hypoimmunogenic cell line. Vita was originally founded out of the labs of Dr. Gabsang Lee and Dr. Kathryn Wagner at Johns Hopkins University and the Kennedy Krieger Institute in 2019 by Douglas Falk, M.S. and Peter Andersen, PhD. The company utilizes induced pluripotent stem cell (iPSC) technology to engineer specific cell types designed to replace those that are defective in patients. We are currently working to progress our lead therapeutic, VTA-100, for the treatment of limb-girdle muscular dystrophy (LGMD), into clinical trials.

Position Overview: The Project Manager will provide operational management of discovery, preclinical research and development for Vita’s neuromuscular programs. The ideal candidate will interface both internal and external research, will track key milestones across discovery, preclinical and development programs.

Responsibilities may include –

  • Track internal research projects, communicating updates among key stakeholders
  • Manage project set up, including contracting, development of project plans and assist with budget
  • Manage and oversee project delivery, including monitoring of progress, agreed upon timelines and deliverables, project finances and project expenditures
  • Develop study protocols including guidelines for administration procedures
  • Monitor and manage issues and challenges at CRO and critical vendors and escalate to project and management team for resolution.
  • Maintain and improve internal processes for research management, monitoring and tracking of systems
  • Monitor study activities to ensure compliance with protocols, GxP guidelines, and with all relevant local, federal and state policies
  • Review and approve invoices to ensure project expenditures are aligned with approved contracts and SOWs.
  • Provide as needed support to ensure appropriate research data and reports are shared with internal cross functional teams.
  • Other duties as assigned

Experience:

  • BS in Biomedical Science (Biology, Pharmacology, Chemistry or related field)
  • Track record of successful management of multiple research projects and project portfolios
  • 5 years of scientific research experience in biotech industry with a background in cell therapy
  • Neuromuscular experience desirable
  • Exceptional communication, organizational and prioritization skills
  • Demonstrated track record in effectively managing partner / contractor/ vendors and executing research projects.
  • Project Management certification preferred
  • Exceptional organizational skills including attention to detail and record keeping
  • Ability to think critically and takes collaborative approach to problem solving
  • Ability to work effectively in regulated and fast-paced environment.
  • Flexibility to work as part of a team or independently to meet goals.
  • Expertise with Monday.com or MS Project desirable
  • Strong Microsoft office skills are required: specifically, Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint
