The Position Our Lewiston, ID location is seeking an Electrical Apprentice to add to our team. The Electrical Apprentice supports manufacturing by maintaining electrical systems as needed. Install, repair, fabricate, and troubleshoot electronic devices used on the plants. Follow the direction of Technical Coordinator and/or senior Electricians and Electrical Technicians assigned to work with, using state and local electrical codes in a safe and efficient manner. The apprentice is required to complete the Apprenticeship curriculum (during non-working hours) and OJT hours in the appropriate time frame. Other duties and responsibilities include: Responsibilities: Receives job assignments according to work orders, daily work schedule, preventative maintenance schedule, or special assignment from Supervisor or Technical Coordinator. Installs and repairs electrical systems, apparatus and electrical components of production machinery and equipment following electrical code, manuals, schematics diagrams, blueprints and other specifications. Uses hand and power tools as well as electrical test equipment or laptop. Installs power supply wiring and conduit for newly or redesigned machines and equipment. Follows electrical code and blueprints. Uses hand and power tools as well as electrical test equipment. Connects power supply wires to machines and equipment and connects cables and wires between machines and equipment. Maintains computer-controlled equipment and their devices and control programs. Wire in sensors and control devices to machinery control or PLC. Diagnoses malfunctioning apparatus such as transformers, motors, and lighting fixtures and replaces damaged or broken wires and cables. Tests malfunctioning machinery, using test equipment, and communicates results to Supervisor. Maintains working relationship with local suppliers. Works with Supervisor, when conferring with outside contractors and agents concerning electrical needs. Works with maintenance personnel and internal customers, ensuring all involved are informed, and all aspects of the project are covered. Informs production personnel when repairs have been made. Monitors and records time and materials on work orders. Turns in work order and receipts to Technical Coordinator or Department Administrator. Qualifications: Be a self-starter and willing to work in a true teamwork environment with minimal supervision. Be willing to work any shift. This permanent shift is Weekend Swing. Able to handle diversified duties requiring independent action. Able to work independently, follow set repair priorities, and order parts. Must have a customer service attitude. Must have training in the electrical field or training from a technical trade school or college or currently enrolled in a technical program.
