Staff Accountant

Position Summary

Vista Equity Partners is seeking a Staff Accountant to join the Finance team to support day-to-day operations of Vista’s upper tiered entities above the various investment funds. Successful candidates will have a fundamental understanding of fund accounting, investment operations, and financial systems and thrive in a dynamic and fast paced environment.  This results-driven role requires frequent interaction with various internal and external parties and offers exposure to other areas of a growing private equity firm. 

Responsibilities

• Cash management, including creating multi-tiered internal bank transfers for review and approval as well as cash account reconciliations
• Assist/prepare capital call/distribution workpapers and notices, including recording capital activities in workpapers and accounting system
• Monitor capital call and distribution activities across private equity and credit funds, including making transfers to/from fund entities relating to GP’s shares of capital calls and distributions and transfers to GP members
• Perform quarter end close and produce financial statements for GP entities
• Ad-hoc projects associated to queries from GP members, internal groups and 3rd parties
• Assist with accounting system implementation – including data input, data validation, create and test reports
• Maintain client portal for GP entities
• Coordinate and compile data for quarterly closing
• Interact with auditors at year-end

Qualifications

• BS/BA degree in business or related field
• 2 years of relevant professional experience including public accounting, fund accounting, and investment operations experience (preferred) in the asset management space
• Strong accounting and operations skills, including system/technology skills and proficient to excellent in– Microsoft© Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) experience
• Detail oriented, and a self-starter able to work in a fast-paced environment
• Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
• Excellent organizational skills and ability to multi-task
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
• Strong teamwork skills and able to coordinate across multiple business functions
