At Visiting Nurse Association of Ohio, we are looking for dependable, compassionate people interested in gaining experience and becoming an invaluable resource to our organization. VNA of Ohio is now hiring a full-time Occupational Therapist in Eastern Cuyahoga County and your qualifications and skill set may be an ideal match for this opportunity.

Responsibilities

The Occupational Therapists will be responsible for providing comprehensive occupational therapy services to a variety of age and diagnostic groups. Including but not limited to the following tasks:

• Performs initial assessment or admission to agency to determine patient treatment needs.
• Develops a plan of care with measurable goals and specific discipline related treatments in conjunction with physical referral/orders.
• Provides direct occupational therapy services as outlined in the plan of care including performance of occupational therapy procedures, instruction of patient and/or caregiver, recommendation for equipment or adaptation of home environment.
• Facilitates total care services to patients by making appropriate referrals to other disciplined by obtaining physicians’ orders or by consulting with case manager.
• Obtains physician approval to modify a current plan of care or treatment program.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Qualified candidates must:

• Licensed Occupational Therapist in the State of Ohio.
• CPR certification through the American Heart Association is required.
• Valid Driver’s License. 
• Home care experience, preferred 
• Experience working as part of a team and working effectively with persons and communities from diverse cultural, social, and ethnic backgrounds. The ability to work in a complex institutional structure requiring significant collaboration. 
• Strong planning and organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Education/Training/Experience:

•  Bachelor’s Degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited school of Occupational Therapy.
•  1 year experience in a supervised healthcare setting, preferred
