The PR Manager executes day-to-day PR activities for technology and professional association clients. Reporting to the Director, this position is responsible for the management and production of communications vehicles and public relations support for both clients and Virtual, Inc. The successful candidate will effectively translate strategic messaging into the appropriate mix of compelling and timely communication and PR strategies, tactics, initiatives, and programs. Must have excellent writing and media relations skills with the ability to work independently.

  • Act as client interface on accounts.
  • Plan and execute hands-on global media and analyst relations programs, including social media.
  • Research and write compelling written content such as announcements, FAQs, messaging, Q&As, statements, talking points, briefings, bylines, video scripts, speaking abstracts, and media pitches.
  • Coordinate distribution and approval.
  • Support the development of web content, e-promotions, and other forms of digital media such as video and podcasts.
  • Edit and coordinate approval of member press releases and communications.
  • Promote and maintain consistency of both client and company brands across all contact points and published materials.
  • Research and develop speaking opportunities and presentation content.
  • Organize and secure media coverage; Monitor media and documents trends, proof points, stats, and other KPIs to proactively identify new story angles and relevant pitches to strengthen messaging and strategy.
  • Prepare, submit, and track client and company award entries.
  • Contribute to setting monthly objectives with clear KPIs, working closely with the team to contribute to the team- and client-based reporting.
  • Help train, monitor, and support the onboarding and management of team intern(s).

As our next Public Relations Manager, you will bring:

  • 4 to 7 years of experience in public relations and communications; PR agency or in-house corporate experience preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree in English, communications, public relations, journalism, or a related field.
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication ability; marketing and PR writing samples required. Digital media and blogging experience a plus.
  • Hands-on experience with media relations required, global and broadcast media background a plus.
  • In-depth experience with using social media channels such as Facebook, LinkedIn, YouTube, and Twitter for public relations outreach.
  • Capable of working independently as well as cross-functionally with all Virtual departments.
  • Proven ability to work independently in a fast-paced, client-facing environment.
  • Experience working in or with a marketing department as part of a communications team.
  • Track record of managing multiple projects simultaneously with competing deadlines.
  • High level of organization, computer skills, and the ability to learn and apply technologies in day-to-day work a necessity.
  • Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and WordPress required. Constant Contact, Google Analytics, and Cision knowledge a plus.

The target hiring range for this role is $60,000 - $70,000 USD (annually). The starting base salary will be determined based on skills, experience, location, and other job-related factors.
