Virtual Service Operations is Hiring a Data Center Operator Near Norwalk, CT

Opportunity:

Virtual Service Operations is searching for a Data Center Operator to join our team on-site in Norwalk, CT. This individual will have the following responsibilities:

  • Data Center Hardware Floor Space Planning
  • Maintain Floor space plan and rack elevation drawings
  • Perform racking and stacking of equipment
  • Perform In-cabinet cabling and labeling of cables according to customer standards
  • Order all services from Co-location Provider including new power connections and carrier-circuit cross-connects
  • Provide hands and eyes support for all supported systems located in the Data Center
  • Assist in Off-site Tape Media processing. (where applicable)
  • Travel for Work (some travel may be required)

Qualifications:

  • 1 - 3 years of previous Data Center Management experience
  • Knowledge of standard Data Center practices
  • Server, Storage, & Network equipment installation and cabling expertise
  • Level 1 Server and Network troubleshooting skills
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Products (Word and Excel)

Requirements

  • Candidate must be within driving distance of Norwalk, CT, and willing to work onsite
  • U.S. Citizenship required
  • High School Diploma / GED Required (Bachelor's Degree preferred, but not required)
