Primary Job Description

Candidate will be responsible for maintaining and maximizing the efficiency of all of the company’s direct and indirect production activities as well as the leadership and oversight of its related employees on a given shift.

Responsibilities

• Develop strong working knowledge of company’s production equipment and facilities including start-up and shut-down procedures
• Trouble-shoot processing and light mechanical problems of production equipment to maximize productivity/output during shift
• Conduct ongoing line checks throughout shift to ensure production meets quality requirements
• Accurately and quickly record production data from various shifts’ activity in varying formats
• Train new production employees
• Move material and assist with production-related activities as needed
• Collaborate with other shift supervisors to review production issues that need resolution
• Ensure safe work practices and thorough clean-up during and at conclusion of shift
• Identify, recommend and implement opportunities for process improvements
• Collaborate with and facilitate the success of other departments especially production, quality and engineering

Suggested Background

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Two-year (2) degree in trades preferred
• Three (3) years working in an industrial role required; rubber industry experience preferred but not required
• Experience and comfort with industrial machinery, computers and data entry
• Proven track record of leadership and associated skills including excellent attitude, communication and the belief that anything can be accomplished
• Strong reading, writing and math skills
• Ability to lift heavy loads
