Overview

Senior Budget Analyst 

The objective of the Senior Budget Analyst to oversee and maintain the StrataJazz reporting and budget system; provide administrative oversight to the Corporation’s Capital Budget and Capital Tracking processes: assist with annual budget preparation; assist with the collection and reporting of statistic data to internal and external customers; and prepare other financial analysis as required for VHC Health.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, Healthcare Management or in a related field required. 
• Two years of Computerized Budgeting and Financial Analysis experience required. 
• Experience in Healthcare Finance and Stratajazz preferred. 

Responsibilities

• Monitor Capital Budget Requests and ensure they meet Capital criteria.
• Assist Department Heads with Capital Budget Requests.
• Monitor Capital Budget Requests daily and analyze when necessary to ensure a smooth process.
• Provide training to Department Managers and Vice Presidents on the Capital Budget Process.
• Provide reporting for the Capital Database to Vice Presidents and Department Managers.
• Compile and analyze annual reports as needed for survey requests.
• Provide support and play a key role in system conversions or upgrades for the capital database.
• Maintain Capital Budget in accordance with departmental policies and procedures related to Capital.
• Manage Health System statistics recording, reconciliation, and reporting.
• Conduct departmental budget meetings as directed by the Director of Financial Planning and Analysis.
• Perform analysis on the current year projection and operating budget as requested.
• Collect and upload statistical data into the general ledger and the budgeting system.
• Maintain and perform the Health System tie-outs for ERP and Strata databases.
• Prepare and submit month end accruals as directed.
• Analyze and verify accuracy of budget database.
• Assist in the preparation of the Service Demand budget.
• Prepare monthly budget reports for distribution to department heads and Vice Presidents.
• Provide budgetary support and training for new department heads.
• Research and analyze budget variances as requested by department managers.
• Compile and analyze statistical reporting as needed for surveys.
• Provide other budgetary reporting as requested.
• Assist with other analysis as requested in the preparation of the annual budget and review of operational results.
• Assists the Director of Financial Analysis and Planning with conversions or upgrades related to the budgeting system.
