SUMMARY

The Senior Accountant provides support to the company in all areas of Finance & Accounting. The senior accountant is responsible for the maintenance of General Ledger and its Sub-ledgers, manages accounts payable, accounts receivable, client invoicing, and intercompany accounts and ensures accuracy and timeliness.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Manage all aspects of the accounts payable, review vendors invoices, process the accounting entries in the accounting system, research, and correct any discrepancies for 4 companies (2 in the US and 2 in Canada)
• Maintain Vendors information updated in the accounting system (address, contact, bank information)
• Assist in the monthly and yearly closing, record necessary monthly accruals while maintaining accrual roll forward
• Assist in the quarterly closing and corporate reporting
• Assist in preparing the monthly financial reports
• Assist with annual Audit
• Interact with accounting departments from the asset entities
• Prepare the payments for the US and Canadian entities
• Assist in the budget preparation and budget revision during the year
• Follow and ensure company finance and accounting processes
• Maintain files and documentation thoroughly and accurately in accordance with Company policy and accepted accounting principles
• Assist the team with the expense and travel system
• Office Manager tasks such as, but not limited to, contact with the building administration, taking care of the post, ordering office supplies, etc…

• Strong technical research skills
• Heavy Accounts Payable Experience
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Ability to work independently and under strict deadlines
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and discretion properly
• QB and Netsuite knowledge and experience
• Strong computer proficiency, especially within Microsoft Excel, Word and Power Point, as well as PC based programs
• Superior quantitative skills
• Strong interpersonal communication
• Must be able to multitask, problem solve, prioritize within a fast-paced environment
• Proven ability to work both independently and collaboratively with different levels of employees

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

B.A. or B.S. degree in Accounting or Finance.

4-7 years of applicable prior experience
