Victory Hematology and Oncology is Hiring a Nurse Practitioner Near Sherman Oaks, CA

Victory Hematology and oncology is seeking additional oncology nurse practitioner (NP) with 1 year or greater of NP experience in Oncology or strong Oncology background as an RN.

In collaborative practice with the attending physician, the nurse practitioner (NP) will be responsible for providing independent clinical assessment and patient care management services for the Hematology and Oncology patients. The Oncology Nurse Practitioner is a master's prepared oncology advanced practice nurse employed by Victory Hematology and Oncology to assist in direct patient care. The NP will be responsible for communication and feedback with patients, families, and referring physicians and will serve as a clinical care extender of attending Hematologist and Oncologists. Incumbent must be self-directed and function with minimal direct supervision.

Qualifications:

Graduated from an accredited MSN program with a specialty in Nurse Practitioner. Graduation from acute care, Family or Primary program required. National NP certification required. Current CA RN and NP License. Current BLS.
Detailed background in oncology clinical medicine. 1 year or greater of NP experience in Oncology or strong Oncology background as an RN is required.
Ability to independently prioritize work with minimal direct supervision.
Ability to work with a wide variety of individuals in many complex settings.
Skills and abilities to perform history and physical examinations of oncology patients.
Skills and abilities to perform accurate assessment and evaluation of oncology patients.
Skills and abilities to develop and implement appropriate treatment plans under established protocols and physician supervision.
Ability to triage patients accurately after evaluating their vital signs, symptoms, findings, etc.
Ability to intervene to deal with patients' problems when physicians are not immediately available.
Ability to write clearly and distinctly so as to accurately and concisely communicate using the medical record or business correspondence.
Ability to use electronic health record (EHR) to obtain pertinent patient information.
Ability to work independently with limited supervision in the outpatient environment while performing a variety of tasks.
Ability to use computer for standard work processing, spreadsheet, and database functions in order to develop communications and to store necessary patient data.
Knowledge and ability to organize, coordinate, and follow complex clinical regimens.
Skill in communicating and translating medical information to patients and their families, including giving patients and families an understanding of their medical condition and what they might expect in the future. Knowledge and proficiency of the English language sufficient to read medical reports and records with comprehension and to prepare reports and correspondence.
Ability to maintain confidentiality regarding sensitive patient information.
Ability to interact effectively and communicate accurately with patients, colleagues and referring physicians. Skill in working as part of a team and collaborating with colleagues.
Ability to perform effectively under conditions of fluctuating workload and frequent interruption.
Skill in prioritizing assignment to complete work in a timely and accurate manner.
Knowledge of Hospital policies and procedures related to functions and responsibilities of the position. Supervisory skills to train, review work, evaluate performance, etc.
