Mid-Ohio Food Collective is Hiring a Kitchen Program Coordinator Near Grove, OH

JOB SUMMARY:

The Mid-Ohio Food Collective (MOFC) is looking for a Kitchen Program Coordinator to help foster and manage partnerships across all Mid-Ohio Kitchen programs. This includes overseeing key administrative tasks to ensure program compliance of USDA nutrition programs. The successful candidate will play a vital role in supporting departmental Objectives and Key Results (OKRs) by driving engagement with programs such as kid's café, community meal initiatives, and strategic partnerships. This position will also be responsible for the on-site monitoring of various partner programs to ensure compliance with various regulations and safety measures.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manage program processes, customer service, and partner training on USDA meal programs.
  • Ensure accurate record-keeping in compliance with all federal, state and local guidelines.
  • Facilitate state authorization processes and submit monthly applications and reports.
  • Train seasonal staff on regulatory practices, meal delivery, food handling, and sanitation.
  • Communicate customer needs/changes to drivers and the kitchen team.
  • Participate in annual budget development and adherence to budget guidelines.
  • Handle customer complaints professionally and with clear communication.
  • Proficient use of basic technology software, such as Microsoft applications,
  • Conduct site monitoring visits for Kid's Café sites to ensure USDA compliance.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of USDA Child Nutrition programs and connect customers to appropriate resources.
  • Approach challenges with a solution-oriented perspective.
  • Ensure implementation of safe food handling procedures, including receiving, rotation, and storage.
  • Train and mentor team members and provide suggestions for continuous

  • Identify and address workplace hazards and maintain positive relationships with stakeholders.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education and Certifications: High School Diploma/GED Required. Food Safety Certification (provided by Mid-Ohio Food Collective). Must maintain a valid drivers license.

Experience: 2-3 years of experience working in environments with high levels of customer interaction. Experience with Microsoft applications such as Outlook and Excel required. Experience working with or implementing state regulated Child Nutrition Programs- Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP), Summer Feeding Summer Programs (SFSP), National School Lunch Programs (NSLP). Preferred knowledge of food handling experience or willingness to learn and implement food handling and safety requirements.

Skills/Competencies: Comfortable learning new technologies as required. Must have excellent customer service skills, able to manage stressful situations and relationships in a professional manner. Ability to work effectively and efficiently both independently and in a team environment. Strong interpersonal skills, excellent written and verbal communication skills are required. Must be able to work and collaborate effectively with volunteers, partner agencies, community leaders, stakeholders. Must have the ability to multi-task while paying attention to detail. Reliability is revealed through work ethic and work performance in a fast-paced and high-volume environment. Must be an organized individual with the ability to meet deadlines.
