GENERAL DESCRIPTION:This position will handles a wide range of HR Generalist activities including: the daily administrative and assist HR Manager with recruitment, payroll processing, record maintenance, LOA, attendance, employee relations, employee engagement, training, onboarding, compliance with corporate and local policies and procedures or other personnel issues.RESPONSIBILITIES•Updates and maintains employee files, processes various forms and requests, prepares reports and provides information to employees regarding established HR programs, policies and procedures. •Reviews, updates and submits bi-weekly and weekly payroll time records. Works closely with the corporate payroll/HR department to ensure timely and accurate payments to employees. •Assists in benefit communications by answering employee questions and directing employees to the appropriate 3rd parties. Also assists with other periodic communications.•Tracks and reports absenteeism and perfect attendance.•Works directly with employees on benefits and employee change notices and coordinates with the corporate payroll/HR group to ensure timely and accurate processing of the requests.•Work closely with the corporate office in the management of leaves of absence, disability, and unemployment claims. May represent the company for any unemployment claims and/or employment disputes.•Partner with corporate Human Resources with job offers, promotions, and periodic internal/external salary market reviews.•Researches compliance with regulatory agency requirements and provides input to Corporate Human Resources.•Respond and investigate all employee relation issues such as employee complaints, harassment allegations, and civil rights complaints.•Facilitate and/or provide training (including orientation, benefits) to the workforce•Ensures that human resources policies, procedures and programs are being met, and makes recommendations for improvement when needed.•Provides administrative support for all phases of work force planning, employee movement including new hires, temporary staffing, transfers, and exits.•Assists in the recruitment of employees as needed. Supports by liaising with other departments, as well as outside vendors/agencies. •Conducts new employee orientations and enrollments for human resources programs, plans and benefits.•Administrative support to the General Manager and Department managers•Performs periodic audits of HR programs to ensure accuracy and integrity of data.•Maintains and reports HR metrics as required.•Participates on special projects as requested by the General Manager and Corporate Human Resources.•Other projects and tasks as assignedREQUIREMENTS•3 - 5 yrs. of HR experience•Knowledge of employment law, recruitment techniques, exposure to Labor Law & employment equity regulations.•Excellent verbal and written communication skills•Effective HR Administration and people management skills•Payroll practices and processing•Full understanding of HR functions and best practices•Works well under pressure and meets tight deadlines•Highly computer literate, MS Office, HRIS, ATS•Superior organizational and time management skills•Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills•Meticulous attention to detail•Ability to accurately follow instructionsEDUCATIONCollege degree in HR or equivalent preferred. Related experience and coursework applicable to Human Resources.PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS•This position does require moderate amounts of walking, standing, bending, kneeling, stooping, pushing, pulling, reaching, lifting, and twisting•Employee may be required to exert up to 10 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects•Worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform activities such as:•Preparing and analyzing data and figures•Transcribing•Viewing a computer screen•Extensive reading•This position requires less than 10% travelCONDITIONS AND ENVIRONMENTSome of the responsibilities and duties are performed on the production floor and/or in the warehouse of a manufacturing plant that can be hot in summer, cold in winter, hazardous, noisy, and dusty. The worker may be subject to:•Inside environmental conditions: Protection from weather conditions but not necessarily from temperature change
