Description

Job Summary:

Provide individualized carrier counseling and job placement support based on the client’s needs, including job search and placement assistance, resume/cover letter development, and coaching to enhance interviewing skills. Conduct frequent outreach to develop and maintain an effective relationship with local employers and training providers to provided program participants with a network of employment and occupational skills opportunities. Identifies employers willing to provide long-term employment opportunities to program participants with barriers to employment. Actively participate at job fairs, recruitments, career and hiring events. Conducts monthly onsite workshops for program participants to include hiring fairs and training/skill advancement opportunities.

Compensation:The wage range for this role is $21.00 - $23.00 hourly.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide individualized career counseling and job placement support based on the client’s needs.
  • Conduct outreach to establish and maintain relationships with local employers and training providers, creating opportunities for program participants.
  • Identify employers willing to offer long-term employment opportunities to individuals facing barriers to employment.
  • Actively participate in job fairs, recruitment events, and career gatherings to expand employment prospects for program participants.
  • Organize and lead monthly onsite workshops, featuring hiring fairs and skill advancement opportunities for program participants.
  • Make cold calls to potential local employers and training providers, explaining the benefits and support services provided by our programs.
  • Match applicant qualifications with job requirements, referring qualified candidates to employers and ensuring necessary follow-up.
  • Stay updated on job fairs, online resources, and industry trends to maximize placement opportunities. Researching digital and print media, agencies, and other sources for job leads, collecting pertinent data from employers.
  • Assist with resume and cover letter building programs to enhance client profiles.
  • Provides the most current job leads to employment case managers on a weekly basis.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Qualifications


Requirements and Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma required; college degree is preferred, but not required.
  • Experience with adult learning, workforce development, career training, case management, career counseling, job development and placement or other employment related field.
  • Knowledge of sales, marketing, and networking techniques a plus
  • Strong organization and classroom management skills.
  • Ability to meet deadlines in goal driven environment.
  • Ability to work with diverse client base.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of job development systems including assessment, resume writing, experience developing leads, organizing job fairs, recruitment, interviewing, and job placement.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Personal computer literacy is required, including proficiency with the Internet, e-mail, and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook).
  • Licensed driver with reliable transportation.
  • Valid California driver's license, current vehicle insurance
  • Must be able to pass criminal background check and drug screen
  • Military veteran a plus!

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to bend and lift light objects
  • Ability to sit for extended periods of time while viewing a computer monitor
  • Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard
  • Capable of hearing and speaking to exchange information
  • Seeing to read reports and data
  • Ability to speak English
  • Must be able to work in a noisy, busy environment.
