The Chief Operating Officer directs delivery of programs in accordance with the organizations goals and objectives. Participates in the writing of grant applications. Ensures program activities comply with contracts. Supervises program staff. Acts as liaison with government agencies, the community and the public relative to funding, contracts and delivery of services. Develops and implements organization-wide policies and programs. Provides direction and day-to-day management of key functions of the organization. Assumes responsibility for organization in absence of CEO. Formulates and implements policies and plans to meet the organizations short and long term objectives.
Compensation:
The base compensation for this position is $127,300 to $172,300 annually.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Performs duties under the supervision of the CEO and in turn reviews forms and reports, and confers with staff to identify problems and improvements.
- Coordinates and supervises the agency's operations to maximize and utilize all resources
- Assures the resident population receives appropriate services by monitoring VVSD's Program Directors and Grant Managers.
- Assures group services are adequate for the resident population by coordinating with the Program Directors and Clinical Directors.
- Coordinates and conducts the bi-weekly program directors meeting and the process improvement team which considers and makes decisions on major program and funding changes.
- Monitors timeliness and accuracy of all program reports submitted by Program Directors.
- Reviews all program reports before being distributed or given to various funding sources.
- Reviews financial and other intra-agency reports for accuracy.
- Signs all agency contracts and oversees their fulfillment.
- Coordinates and implements various managerial goals and objectives to insure the fulfillment of the agency's contracts.
- Works with the Program Directors and Community Partners from various funding sources to assure monitoring visits run smoothly.
- Assists in providing contract information needed for grant proposals.
- Networks with community agencies and interfaces with the public as needed.
- On occasion, or at the President/CEOs direction, visits other facilities for various purposes.
- Attends meetings as required by contractual agencies.
- At the President and CEO direction, delivers public announcements and can be available to the media for interviews if needed.
- Travels to various cities to conduct agency business as needed.
- Works with the Facilities Director to assure that properties are rehabilitated and/or maintained to comply with city, state and federal requirements as well as the requirements of any grant connected with the acquired property.
- Works with the Facilities Director to make sure that buildings are operated in a safe manner with regular safety inspections, fire drills, etc.
Qualifications
Requirements and Qualifications:

Masters Degree in a related field or at least 10 years experience in high-level management within a commensurate non-profit setting, including prior experience leading change

Keen analytic, organization and problem solving skills which support and enable sound decision making

Excellent communication and relationship building skills with an ability to prioritize, negotiate and work with a variety of internal and external stakeholders

Prior experience supervising, coaching and mentoring a senior management team

Experience raising funds from individuals, corporations and foundations

A commitment to lead by example, passion for creating change, and dedication to the mission

Experience with government grants a plus

Veteran status a large plus.

Salary : $127,300 - $172,200
