SUMMARY

The Food and Beverage Staff position is the face of the restaurant and has considerable influence on its patrons experience. They must maintain a professional and friendly demeanor and offer timely assistance to customers in order to ensure that their needs are met.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES include the following:

• Delivers prompt efficient and courteous service
• Monitors guests needs on a continual basis, ensuring all requests will be promptly fulfilled in accordance with policies and procedures.
• Assist host or hostess by answering phones to take reservations or to-go orders, and by greeting, seating, and thanking guests.
• Take orders, prepares and serves all food and drink orders
• Accountable for providing superior beverage service
• Practices responsible alcohol service to prevent and recognize potential alcohol related concerns
• Responsible for delivering food, ensuring that orders have been properly prepared before delivering them to the customers tables
• Maintains current knowledge of the menu and drink/wine list
• Performs pre-busing of tables on a continual basis
• Keeping service stations and storage areas stocked and organized
• Works in a clean, sanitary, safe, and organized manner, abiding by all health and safety regulations.
• Completes opening/closing duties, side work, and other duties as necessary
• Participates as a team member to produce a smooth and efficient operation.
• Attends and completes all training as assigned or required
• Read and execute specifications listed on all Banquet Event Orders
• Knowledge and compliance with service equipment usage guidelines
• Receives payment from food and beverage guests in a prompt and courteous manner.
• Utilizes Point-of-Sale system, quotes accurate pricing, and gives correct change, accounts for all cash, charge, and complimentary sales according to established procedures.
• Alerts management of any issues or problems

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY:

This position has no supervisory responsibilities

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

This position operates in a restaurant setting. The noise level in the work environment can be loud. The employee may be exposed to hazards including, but are not limited to, cuts, slipping, tripping, falls and burns. Frequent hand washing is required.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping and crouching. The position may require occasional lifting of products weighing up to 20 pounds.

TRAVEL:

No travel is expected for this position.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Ability to stand for extended periods of time; bend, stretch and reach;
• Prior server/bartender experience.
• High standards of integrity and reliability.
• Must be 18 to serve alcohol pursuant to Florida statutes.
