ABOUT VERTICAL SOLUTIONS

Indoor rock climbing has become an incredibly popular mainstream sport. Nearly every state in the nation is now home to at least one rock climbing gym, and all forecasts predict the sport will only continue to grow. We intend to grow with it!

Like all industries, there are some who do it poorly, some who do it well, and some who do it best. Vertical Solutions, the nation's largest domestic climbing wall manufacturer, does it best. We build indoor climbing walls throughout the country with distinctive materials that set us apart from (and above) the competition, and we have set the industry standard for design and aesthetics. Our walls are fabricated at our headquarters in Salt Lake City by an expert team of carpenters and welders and shipped to job sites across the country for assembly by our traveling field crew. VS also produces a full fleet of climbing holds and pads, and offers in-depth business development consulting, making us the only true full-service gym builder in the U.S. The rapid expansion of our company and industry ensures ample opportunity for career development and upward mobility.

PRIMARY AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Build a variety of part and assemblies, from wall part to architectural cabinetry and furniture.
  • Handles tools of various types including heavy machinery;
  • Reads plans and blueprints to make sure the diagrams meet specifications;
  • Use general construction techniques to produce
  • Use lean concepts for individual tasks;
  • General labor work (e.g. Sweep, clean up job site, run errands, use hammer and saw, demolition, etc.)
  • Keep a clean, organized working environment and assist in maintaining machinery and tools;
  • Additional duties may be assigned in various functions of Vertical Solutions.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum 5-10 years' experience;
  • Rough carpentry required & finish carpentry a bonus;
  • Possess physical strength to operate heavy and power-driven equipment;
  • Communicate progress and arising problems with team leaders/project foreman;
  • Ability to complete repetitive tasks while maintaining quality and production standards;
  • Wear company provided safety equipment IE (harness, hard hat, safety vest, safety glasses).
  • Ability to complete assigned tasks with minimal oversight;
  • Reliable, shows up to shift on time each day;
  • Proactive, self-starter, positive attitude;
  • Well-developed time management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities;
  • Ability to exercise discretion and independent judgment;
  • Ability to work and participate effectively in a team environment;
  • Valid driver license;
  • Forklift certification preferred;
  • OSHA 10 or 30 preferred;
  • Welding certification a bonus.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Ability to stand on your feet the majority of the day;
  • Must be able to frequently lift and/or move up to 50 lbs.;
  • Stooping and bending body downward and forward by bending spine at the waist;
  • Regularly works at heights (scissor lifts, boom lifts);
  • Potential exposure to hazardous chemical materials;
  • Noise level is typical of that found in a manufacturing environment;
  • Subject to atmospheric conditions.
  • Regular and repetitive use of hands to handle, feel and operate machinery;
  • Crouching, kneeling, twisting, reaching, climbing, pushing and pulling;
  • The worker is required to function in narrow aisles or passageways;
  • Potential exposure to weather and environmental conditions.
