Position Title: Parts Assistant

An authorized distributor for Vermeer equipment in Kansas, Oklahoma, and Western Missouri with five branch locations across the region. A 100% employee-owned company, we provide dedicated sales, rentals, parts, and service support for customers in the tree care, landscaping, wood waste, organic recycling, underground construction, and mining industries.

POSITION FUNCTION:

The Parts Assistant will assist the Parts Manager and Parts Specialists in maintaining a smooth running, efficient department by performing tasks and learning the basics of the industry.

ESSENTIAL PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Assist customers by using parts catalogs, computer, price items or print tickets to properly identify items needed
• Provide general assistance around the Parts Department, including administrative and technical tasks
• Ensure all parts are stocked, placed appropriately and ready for purchase
• Receive, ship and store parts as needed ensuring internal and external customers receive the correct parts in a timely manner
• Pick up and deliver parts for customers and vendors as needed
• Assist in maintaining the retail sales floor and displays to meet or exceed the dealerships standards by setting up merchandise for display and ensuring customer satisfaction by keeping Parts Department clean and professional
• Maintain a positive and professional working relationship with peers, management and support resources with a constant commitment to teamwork and exemplary customer service
• Proactively stay current on industry and product information (including Vermeer and other vendors), continuing your education by factory schools, etc.
• Follow all safety rules and regulations while performing work assignments and adhere to policies and procedures as specified in company manuals and as directed in the employee handbook
• Other duties as assigned

Measure of success determined by established company guidelines, including but not limited to ability to perform the above mentioned duties, feedback from customers, ability to take guidance and direction from Manager professionally, and execute upon such feedback.

Qualifications

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

• Must be committed to and take a pro-active approach to our Company Mission, Vision and Values
• Strong PC proficiency with MS Windows and MS Office Suite, CDK a plus
• Strong organizational skills
• High degree of customer service to both internal and external customers
• Demonstrated safe work habits
• Strong ability to adapt to the people and environment around them - customers, suppliers, co-workers and manufacturer's employees
• Ability to conduct yourself in a professional, ethical and reliable manner with minimal supervision
• Strong verbal and written communication skills in order to communicate professionally, respectfully and honestly at all times
• Must be able to lift/push/pull up to at least 50 lbs, stand, walk, use hands and fingers, handle, feel, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, talk and hear
• Must be able to work overtime and/or weekends as needed

QUALIFICATIONS:

• High School diploma/GED or vocational training/certification and 1 year of experience in same or similar industry/position; or equivalent combination of education and experience required
• Must be at least 18 years of age or older
• Background check, pre-employment drug testing and clean driving record required
