Responsibilities
- Support the monthly accounting close process, including preparation and recording of journal entries
- Responsibility and oversight of various subsidiary entries
- Prepare monthly balance sheet account reconciliations and identify and timely resolve reconciling items
- Assist with all Accounts Payable functions including payment processing
- Support reviews of monthly lease reconciliations and statements
- Assist with daily cash application process and reconciliation of bank accounts
- Assist with the filings of Property Taxes and annual renditions across various states
- Identify and implement improvements to accounting processes, systems, and controls to improve efficiency and drive financial performance
- Analyze financial information, and recognize and report significant variances, trends, and irregularities
- Collaborate, contribute to, and help with various special projects and ad-hoc requests
- Review Company expense reports for policy adherence
- Assist with the annual audit process
- Manage shared Outlook Inbox and stay organized with incoming/outgoing emails and physical mail
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in accounting or related field
- 1 to 3 years of general accounting experience
- Knowledge and experience with accounts payable, accruals, and prepaids
- Demonstrated ability to analyze data, identify trends, and opportunities, and effectively communicate interpretations across all levels both verbal and written
- Intermediate Excel skills
- Self-starter with outstanding analytical skills
- Intellectual curiosity and efficiency in problem-solving
- Enjoys being on a team, working with and collaborating with others
- Strict organizational skills with ability to manage multiple tasks effectively
- Ability to work independently and make decisions with limited guidance
- Exceptional attention to detail
- Proactively seeks and embraces feedback
