Veracity Consulting Group is Hiring a Remote Product Owner

Today, we’re ready to add a Product Owner to our team. As a Product Owner you will be consultative and act as the liaison between the Product Managers/Owners and the Offshore Delivery team. You will be responsible for using logic and reasoning to create feature specifications based on Product Owner provided business requirements. You will work with the Product Owner to understand the business objectives and intent of each feature then define specific functional and non-functional requirements, use cases, and business processes as needed to ensure the offshore team has all the detailed required to meet the business intent and requirements. You will also assess and accept the feature as part of the definition of done for the feature. If requirements are missed you will work with the offshore team to provide feedback and resolve gaps.

Project Summary 

The Product Owner on one or more product lines on a Data Management platform. This is a senior level individual contributor role on the Product team and owns the end-end responsibility of product line delivery. He/she translates business requirements into achievable product features and user stories for data engineers and BI developers. This role works closely with the Analytics Platform Product Manager to understand the product roadmap and contributes to solution design. This role collaborates with key and diverse stakeholders across Clinical, Research, Commercial and Engineering functions. Professional coming in this role is required to have experience and understanding in Data Management, Data Analytics, Business Requirements Gathering, Product/Product Line Ownership and cross team collaboration. This role is also responsible for mentoring and leading junior Product Owners on the team. Experience and/or comfort in working in a fast-paced agile environment, entrepreneurial mindset, passion for building data products, excellent communication and collaboration skills and comfort working in diverse technology environments are critical to be successful in this role.

Key Responsibilities:

To successfully deliver the product lines in a fast-paced business demand.

Product/Product Line Ownership:

  • Work in collaboration with the Product Manager to execute the Long-Term Roadmap
  • Understand the product roadmap, priorities, business objectives and the scope of Job-to-be-Done (JTD)
  • Deep understanding of current and future stakeholder needs
  • Proficiently summarize and capture stakeholder needs into achievable product features, acceptance criteria and user stories in collaboration with the Product Manager, Solution Architect, Business Stakeholders, Subject Matter Experts (SME)
  • Handover product features and user stories to the Engineering team with the required level of detail to get the task done
  • Work in collaboration with the Scrum Master to maintain a prioritized feature backlog
  • Timely escalation of roadblocks to the Product Leadership
  • Present analysis output to diverse audience including stakeholders and leadership
  • Partner with the Product Manager in setting up Product Ownership Excellence standards
  • Manage multiple J-T-D pipelines and competing priorities simultaneously
  • Provide ongoing product support to stakeholders
  • Lead UAT, partnering with stakeholders
  • Monitor product pull-through and help the product manager in invest/divest decisions
  • Focus on product value, quality delivery, engaged stakeholder partnership
  • Ability to run and write queries on structured data and perform data analysis of mid-high complexity
  • Ability to onboard on new tools and technologies with appropriate training support
  • Ability to work on Analytics Data Platform supporting high velocity, diverse (structured/unstructured) data and advanced analytics (e.g. AI/ML) use cases.
  • Eye for customer experience and ability to create BI mock-ups

Leadership:

  • Accountable & ownership of end-end product line delivery
  • Ability to lead and mentor a small team of 1-2 product owners
  • Active and trusted liaison between business, scrum master and engineering team
  • Ability to assimilate and implement feedback

Typical Minimum Requirements:

  • 7 years of Business Analysis/Product Ownership experience in Data focused agile set-up
  • 2 years of team leadership experience
  • Experience working in data analytics and healthcare domain
  • Excellent problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Strong organization and time management skills
  • Self-starter and growth mindset
  • Experience with feature documentation and prioritization tools like JIRA, and Confluence
  • SQL or python experience working with data
  • Experience with modern cloud technologies in AWS, Azure, or GCP
  • Experience (as a product owner/analyst) in data and analytics, focused on data management in the healthcare, provider, payer, or life science industry
  • Experience with healthcare data, real-world data, or clinical data
  • Experience eliciting complex data and analytics requirements
  • Solves problems in unique ways by drawing from background and experience working in an array of contexts
  • Experience in working on root cause identification and analysis
  • Experience working and driving day-day tasks and goals independently with minimal direction
  • Comfortable working with distributed teams across time-zones

Additional Skills:

  • Experience working in the life sciences or the bio/chemical research field
  • Experience in oncology data and clinical workflow
  • Experience with mock-up tools like Figma, Balsamiq
  • Experience using design thinking principle for requirements gathering
  • Understanding of agile product management principles
  • Familiarity with data visualization and BI tools like Tableau
  • Willingness to bring structure to complex and ambiguous problem scenarios
  • Continuous learner

Education:

BS or MS in Computer Science, Information Management, Biology, Biotech or affiliated fields
