This opportunity is ideal for an experienced, self-starting, detail-oriented, and technically proficient individual to provide direct advisory support to the Office of the Undersecretary of Defense for Research and Engineering (OUSD(R&E)) Directorate of Defense Research and Engineering for Advanced Capabilities Prototypes & Experiments Directorate, performing within the metropolitan Washington, DC area. The Senior Financial Analyst will support Rapid Defense Experimentation Reserve (RDER) in various focus areas, including: space and cyber; defense and platforms; offense and weapons; resilient communications; logistics; and battlefield management command, control, and communication. The Senior Financial Analyst will perform financial analyses and execution of programs and projects, including tracking and managing funding activities of obligations and expenditures, monitoring program budget execution, preparing documentation to support the budgetary process, maintaining cognizance of designated program funds, and providing inputs for recurring monthly budget execution meetings. Additionally, the Senior Financial Analyst will assist the Government client by preparing Military Interdepartmental Purchase Request (MIPR), sub-allocation, and Inter-Agency Agreement (IAA) funding documents; and identifying/tracing financial discrepancies and coordinating corrective action. The Senior Financial Analyst demonstrates strong oral and written communication skills and is comfortable engaging with various stakeholders within OSD, Services, Combatant Commands, Government Agencies, and the Joint Staff at varying levels of leadership/seniority.
