This immediate opportunity is ideal for an experienced, self-starting, detail-oriented, and technically proficient individual to provide direct engineering support to the Office of the Undersecretary of Defense for Research and Engineering ((OUSD(R&E)) Prototyping and Experimentation Mission Directorate. The successful candidate will assist in the planning, coordination and execution of a large-scale, multi-year prototyping and demonstration and experimentation effort to deliver immediate capability for Warfighter use, and accelerate transition into long-term Service Programs of Record (PoR). These efforts address Combatant Command (CCMD) and Joint Service emergent and urgent needs by executing the Congressional mandates of the RDER and JCTD Program, conduct demonstrations and experiments in operationally relevant environments, assess and report military utility, and accelerate the overall transition of capability to the warfighter. The Principle Engineer will provide programmatic expertise to the Government from system concept definition through technology transfer activities, make recommendations to the development of Concepts of Operations (CONOPS) pertinent to mission needs and technical capabilities, and assess and advise on Joint Capability Technology Demonstrations (JCTD) requirements, capabilities, limitations, and constraints as they pertain to defense mission resilience and national security. The successful candidate will work with partners across the DoD, academia, industry, and allies.

Required Experience:

· M.S. in engineering, scientific, or technical discipline that is relevant to AI/Autonomous Systems or C3ISR

· 5 years' experience : prototyping, experimentations, operational field demonstrations, project management and integration, financial management, and military utility assessments

· In-depth experience in the following mission areas: Space, Intelligence Surveillance Reconnaissance (ISR); Autonomy, Artificial Intelligence (AI); Fully Networked Command Control and Communications, National Systems; Electronic Warfare, Spectrum Maneuver, Mission Data Integration, Cyber; All Domain Effects, Weapons; Climate, and Contested Logistics

· Previous experience with Department of Defense RDT&E mission and processes

· Previous experience with JCTD and RDER programs

· Top Secret Clearance with SCI eligibility

· Must be a U.S. citizen

Desired Experience:

· 10 years' relevant experience in the categories described above
