VentureWell is currently seeking a Senior Financial Analyst to join the team. In this role you will:

  • Report to the Director of Financial Planning and Analysis and support the financial planning function.
  • Prepare month end reports for the Executive Team and Functional Directors.
  • Research, analyze, and explain variances to the budget.
  • Develop slides and presentation material for board decks.
  • Proactively gather financial data from individual teams.
  • Become a partner for financial statements and reporting in Adaptive Insights 
    • Generate reports in the system
    • Update forecasts and run financial scenarios
    • Ensure proper setup of new grants in the system
  • Assist the Director in various financial planning processes, including but not limited to:
    • Annual budget
    • Understanding and planning headcount hours
    • Quarterly forecast updates
    • Ad hoc analysis as needed by internal stakeholders
  • Work with internal teams to support new grant proposals as needed.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Finance or Accounting required.
  • 5-7 years of Finance or Accounting experience.
  • Knowledge of nonprofit/fund accounting, federal contracts, cooperative agreements and grants management is preferred.
  • Experience managing and projecting indirect cost rates.
  • High degree of digital fluency using cloud-based office tools such as GSuite, CRM’s, team collaboration tools, and other web-based applications; ability to incorporate these tools into day-to-day work.
  • Ability to use data to develop charts and graphs in Excel (using advanced functions) and create Powerpoint presentations.
  • Proficiency with FP&A tools such as Adaptive Insights and Netsuite is a major plus.
  • Experience developing complex financial models, including multi-year forecasts involving headcount budgeting allocated to a large number of cost centers.
  • Ability to succeed and thrive in an environment with competing priorities and deadlines.
  • Track record of and ability to build solid, collaborative working relationships; strong team player who enjoys “customer service” orientation to collaboration.
  • Self-starter with strong attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality work.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, great communication, and the ability to work with internal stakeholders.
  • Interest in learning about issues around diversity, equity, and inclusion, and applying those learnings to foster an inclusive workplace driven by equitable practices and a sense of belonging for all staff.
