Job Title: Service Supervisor Job Purpose: The Service Supervisor will maintain Velocity Truck Rental & Leasing (VTR&L) equipment by directing technicians to conduct inspections and preventive maintenance requirements; correcting vehicle deficiencies; making adjustments and alignments; light repairs and keeping records while following all company policies and procedures. Shop management duties including supervising hourly technicians, scheduling of P.M. Services and follow up repairs. Job Duties: •Management of shop operations. •Scheduling of P.M. Services. •Schedule, coordinate, and manage shop personnel assigned to Maintenance facility. •Managing hourly technicians Productivity, Overtime and Unapplied labor to standards. •Management of follow-up repairs. •Managing emergency road service situations. •Ensure effectiveness of repair work. •Ensure quality of work with random follow-up inspections. •Ensure cleanliness of vehicles being returned or rented to customers. •Processing of internal repair orders, purchase orders and DVCR’S. •Scheduling outside vendor repairs. •Rental Department support. •Scheduling of on-site mobile maintenance. •Administration and participation of weekly safety program. •Determines vehicle condition by conducting Preventive Maintenance Q.C. Inspections and identifying worn and damaged parts. •Keeps equipment available for use by completing preventive maintenance schedules; installing component and part upgrades; controlling corrosion; completing inclement weather procedures. •Directs Technicians in light repairs and vehicle deficiencies by removing, repairing, adjusting, assembling, disassembling components, parts, or systems, such as, electrical, brake, steering, hydraulics, adjusting and alignments including bearing loads, wheel ends, brake adjustments, governors, oil systems, control linkages, clutches, and traction units. Verifies vehicle performance by conducting test drives, adjusting controls and systems. •Directs tire repairs, replacements, rotations, mounting and dismounting on and off of vehicles as needed. •Ensure compliance with DOT, O.S.H.A., EPA and all federal and state requirements. •Maintains vehicle appearance by cleaning, washing, and painting. •Maintains vehicle records by annotating services and repairs. •Keeps shop Service Trucks and equipment operating by following operating instructions; troubleshooting breakdowns; maintaining supplies; performing preventive maintenance; calling for repairs. •Contains costs by using warranty, evaluating service and parts options. •Keeps supplies ready by inventorying stock; placing orders; verifying receipt. •Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading technical and regulation publications. •Performs all duties of lesser classification, and other work-related duties as directed by management. Skills/Qualifications: •High School Diploma or its equivalent required •Post-Secondary vocational education strongly preferred •Two years’ experience in Transportation Maintenance or a related field preferred •Two years’ experience in shop supervision of multiple employees. •Must have valid Driver’s License, Class B preferred. •Must be able to lift 75 LBS •Ability to understand and adhere to Company Policies in all areas •Technical Understanding •Attention to Detail •Dependability •Thoroughness •Strong Verbal Communication and Documentation skills •Must be able to follow Inventory control measures •Ability to operate various types of equipment and tools •Ability to always implement a strong safety environment We’re looking to hire the best!
