Velir is Hiring a Remote HR Generalist

Overview

Velir is looking for a HR Generalist to join our People Operations Team. The ideal candidate is motivated by creating a happy and healthy work environment. The HR Generalist is the go-to person covering a large variety of responsibilities focused on employees and their wellbeing. This includes onboarding, administering benefits, leave, company policies and procedures and managing our HRIS application. The ideal candidate enjoys working across multiple initiatives and excels in a fast place, high touch environment. This is a hybrid position, mostly working remotely with going into our Somerville office a couple times a month.

Responsibilities

• Leads new hire orientation and employee recognition programs.• Owns the administration of our HRIS application, Namely, which includes the coordination of compensation, benefit plans and leave. • Plans and organizes company outings, monthly virtual events, and activities.• Assists with office management including maintaining of supplies, keeping the office organized and accessible to employees.• Respond to employment checks and employee verifications. • Partner with our legal team to ensure our employee handbook and policies are up to date with compliance of federal, state, and local employment laws and regulation. • Maintain knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law. • Maintain employee documentation and people operations best practices.• Responsible for creating and shipping employee welcome “swag bags”• Performs other duties as assigned.

Skills & Qualifications

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.• Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.• Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.• Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate.• Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.• Thorough knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations.• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.• Bachelor’s Degree, 3 years’ experience in a similar role, ideally within an agency environment.
