SHIPPING SPECIALIST

Job Summary:
A shipping specialist helps ensure that manufactured items are ready for shipment by placing them into containers, sealing and labeling the items, and preparing the item for transport. Record information about each package. Ensure that prepared packages make It to their designated locations, such as loading zones or into inventory. Attention to detail is key. Must ensure that items make it safely to their destinations.

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
Ability to write clear and accurate reports and standard business correspondence.
Ability to speak effectively and exchange information with multi-disciplines including suppliers, customers and other members of the organization.
Ability to read and use prints and drawings.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products.
Physical Demands:
The employee is regularly required to sit, stand and walk around, use hands and fingers, reach with hands and arms, and talk and hear. Employee may occasionally climb, balance, bend, stoop, kneel or crouch. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to focus.
Work Environment:
Manufacturing plant environment. The employee may be exposed to moving mechanical parts and moderate noise when on the production floor.
