The User Experience Designer has the overall responsibility for creating awesome experiences while embracing a user-centered design mindset. This person will be responsible for collaborating in a diverse team environment to create efficient, elegant, and usable solutions. This person should feel comfortable in a consulting role; facilitating interactions with both internal and external customers.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Understand our users - Plan, conduct, and share user/usability research to support initiatives in a rapid, iterative manner 
  • Design awesome experiences - from low fidelity wireframes to high fidelity prototypes; articulating the vision of the user experience by telling the story from start to finish
  • Participate in cross-functional teams to translate business needs and requirements into compelling user experiences
  • Create accessible designs that meet WCAG AA requirements.
  • Assist in the evolution, and adoption of the Vector Design System
  • Grow the UX maturity at Vector Lead cross-functional teams to translate business needs and requirements into compelling user experiences.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • This position does not have any supervisory responsibilities.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated experience in a design role, providing design deliverables that others use to deliver a product
  • Demonstrated experience documenting a user journey to enable teams to understand how the proposed solution will make user’s lives better
  • Collaborator that thrives in a social atmosphere and actively contributes to improving processes, workflows, and communication
  • Quick thinker that can be decisive and move forward.
  • Interested in learning more about how to build a UX practice and UX maturity within an organization
  • Positive attitude

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Required 

  • Bachelor's Degree in User Experience related field (e.g., HCI). Master’s Degree preferred.
  • At least 3 years of designing awesome user experiences.
  • Proficiency in prototyping tools (e.g., Axure, Invision, etc.).Master’s Degree in User Experience related field (e.g., HCI).
