Come grow with us! VAULT is looking for an experienced, highly organized, and detail-oriented Design Engineer. This individual will collaborate with our Sales team and customers to establish new and existing products. Duties include but are not limited to; product design, research, prototyping, engineering documentation, estimating and process improvement. The successful candidate will collaborate with the Engineering department and other teams on design projects. Key Responsibilities:

• Creates, updates, and maintains Bill of Material (BOM) to be used in the assembly process.
• Analyzes engineering sketches, specifications and related data and drawings to determine design factors such as size, shape, and arrangement of parts.
• Creates drawings to document weights, surface areas, dimensions, radius, clearance, tolerances, leverages and location of key features.

• Collaborates and participates on specific phases or aspects of project such as technical studies, product design reviews, preparation of specifications and technical plans, and product testing.
• Review’s product design for compliance with engineering principles, company standards and customer contract requirements, and related specifications.
• Resolves engineering design and test problems.
• Prepares interim and completion project reports.
• Inspects and conducts first article review of parts/assemblies prior to production to ensure compliance with design specifications.

• Uses computer assisted design/drafting equipment and software to develop designs.

Skill Requirements:

• Associates/BS degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related subject
• 3D CAD experience with modeling and assemblies
• Experience with formulas/equations in building robust models
• Understanding of machining and molding techniques

Preferred Skills:

• Experience with SOLIDWORKS
• Sheetmetal and mold/casting design knowledge
• Developing new conceptual designs
• Willingness to learn new skills
