We are looking for a versatile and well-rounded mechanical engineer with a solid background in mechanical design principles to join our team to design next generation cancer fighting products. In this role, you will be a creative problem solver and have a solid background and extensive experience in design, analysis, mechanisms, materials, and precision design. The ideal candidate will be someone with wide-ranging experience, superb practical hands-on attitude, and project leadership skills. You will propose new design concepts to resolve complex issues in creative and effective ways. This person must have the ability to collaborate effectively in a multi-disciplinary, across functional teams, and supplier collaborations with the goal of delivering quality products on schedule. Position is a hybrid role; ideal candidate may be based in Bay Area, California. In This Role, You Will Design and analyze mechanical systems and equipment Own component and subsystem development from concept through release to production Conduct feasibility studies and testing on new and modified designs Determine methods and procedures on new assignments and may coordinate activities of other personnel (Team Lead) Directs support personnel in the preparation of detailed design, design testing and prototype fabrication. Provides design information to drafting for packaging documentation What You Will Have Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience) and 8 years of related experience or master’s degree with 6 years of related experience Proven experience creating detailed mechanical designs, with system-level impact and ownership Extensive experience with dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T), materials and finishes, expertise with broad variety of fabrication processes and assembly processes Experience with Design for X (DFX): manufacturing, assembly, service, cost, performance Proficient in CAD systems: SolidWorks and CREO Experience performing complex multi-focus analysis using detailed calculations and software tools Proficient in utilizing business tools such as: E-mail, Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
