Summary Supports engineering activities such as design, test, measurement, inspection, modification, fabrication, and assembly of prototype mechanical systems and manufacturing processes, as well as performing rework and quality testing related to the production of parts, components, and subassemblies. . Works from written and verbal descriptions, draft work instructions, or defined plans to perform process development and trouble-shooting functions. Assists in developing methods and procedures to control or modify manufacturing process. Works with engineers in conducting experiments Performs material handling activities while ensuring safety and Lean warehousing practices. Audits incoming shipments and maintains inventory counts of engineering prototype materials to assure quality and accuracy. Job Description CORE DUTIES Support engineering in development and establishment of new product and processes in preparation for production release Help develop and continuously improve prototype fabrication cell using Lean 6S principles Submit prototype components and assemblies to standard production processes and review processed material to ensure quality. Handle engineering prototype inventory to ensure quality of received components, proper storage of material, and accurate accounting of parts on hand Assist in disassembly, recovery, and evaluation of prototypes Minimum Required Skills and Knowledge Able to lift up to 50 lbs Strong teaming and organization skills. Basic understanding of material logistics and process documentation Use of basic hand tools such as wrenches, screwdrivers, drills, hammers Clear communication and documentation utilizing programs such as Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint Outlook, and Word Adheres to all safety requirements. Maintains a clean work area. May assist in training other employees on production skills. May assist in preventative maintenance of equipment.
