At Kansas City International Airport, we are part of Kansas City Airport Partners , the company formed to develop the airport’s concession program and provide management. As managing partner, the onsite Vantage team provides oversight and management for the day-to-day operation and overall development.

We are looking for a self-motivated and results-driven Commercial Analyst to provide important business insights and insure operational and financial compliance is maintained. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to Vantage’s ongoing success and be involved in a new innovative business model.

THE ROLELocated at Kansas City International Airport in Kansas City, MO, the primary duty of a Commercial Analyst is to assess data from a variety of sources and use it to derive insights into changes in sales growth and trends. The Commercial Analyst conducts research, gathers data, provides analysis and interpretation, and assists with the preparation of reports, presentations, and recommendations. In addition, the Commercial Analyst will undertake financial and contractual administration duties for Kansas City Airport Partners, working with the General Manager.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

Analysis, Forecasting, Data Collection and Reporting

• Perform descriptive data analysis that shows the potential impact of changes in passenger behavior and market conditions, including construction schedules and how they will impact sales by using a variety of statistical modeling methods
• Develop predictive analysis templates to improve revenue and market share, forecasting processes and accuracy; includes promoting the value of standardized templates, from which custom-built solutions can be developed
• Prepare both written reports and visual presentations to share findings with the Commercial Team through daily, weekly, or monthly meetings
• Coordinate and manages an array of existing reports, ensuring timely delivery to senior management
• Work with, build, and maintain database and business intelligence tools, including the commissioning and decommissioning of data sets. Design and develop new reports that provide insight for multiple audiences including the Commercial Team, and the Vantage Executive Team
• Distill market intelligence in a timely manner to inform decision makers throughout the organization
• Comfortable using data visualization tools such as PowerBi and Tableau

Contract Administration and Compliance Monitoring

• Review contracts for compliance
• Review contracts, verify accuracy and identify discrepancies
• Ensure relevant documentation accompanies contracts and maintain digital and hard copies of relevant documentation

Financial Administration

• Monitors accounts receivable information and identifies noncompliance
• Monitors construction phasing and identifies capital impact
• Works as a liaison between concession partners and Corporate Finance

General

• Use initiative to research and identify areas of improvement or opportunity
• Stay abreast of market trends within their industry as a whole
• Monitor competitors, from new business, to financial results (for publicly traded companies)

ABOUT YOUYou can use data points to tell a story and convey your analysis in professional, well-crafted reports and presentations. You are familiar with predictive analytics and are passionate about operations, big data, and statistics. Your strong capabilities in quantitative analysis are matched by your strong communication skills and supplemented by an undergraduate university degree. You are a self-starter, who loves to see excellent analytical reporting make a difference and contribute to business success.

You possess the following experience and abilities:

• Preferred previous experience in a business or financial analysis role
• Advanced-level skills in Excel; proficiency in Word and Outlook
• Strong analytical skills, with consistent, high-quality, accurate results
• Restaurant or Retail experience preferred
• Curiosity and with a keen interest in learning the business of airports
• Motivated to take ownership and deliver in a fast-paced, customer focused environment
• Independent ‘numbers' thinker who can also work in a team
• Good judgement, especially in interpersonal relationships and communications; ability to speak and write clearly, appropriate to the audience, showing multi and intercultural awareness
• Creative, inquisitive, ability to keep in mind the ‘big picture’ while attending to details
• Resourceful and goal oriented
• Organizational and prioritization skills, including ability to be flexible with changing and competing priorities
