Job Description

Vanir has a unique opportunity for a talented individual to assist in the continued strategic growth of our organization. The position of Project Controls Specialist will work collaboratively with internal and external clients to deliver intelligent solutions to ensure quality project delivery in the Education market segment of our organization. The Project Controls Specialist will be instrumental in integrating best practices and project deliverables while interfacing with the Program Manager, Deputy Program Manager, Program Controls Manager, Finance Manager, Contracts Manager, and other Senior Staff to develop custom financial, budget and schedule reports. As a Vanir employee, you will be a vital member solving complex operational and project controls issues with a maintained focus on customer satisfaction. 

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Monitor the overall integrity of the project budget and forecast in accordance with approvedstandard operating procedures
  • Provide quality assurance to College functional staff regarding all financial tracking and costperformance
  • Conduct cost variance analysis of reported data to identify trends and mitigate potential budgetimpacts
  • Review, analysis and oversight of monthly cost reports and monthly progress reports
  • Evaluate contract change orders and amendments for impact on budget/timetable
  • Review financial section of the Proposed Board Actions for accuracy
  • Review invoices for compliance and proper coding in accordance with encumbrances
  • Review task order requests, change orders and amendments to ensure budget availability, accuratecost coding and reporting
  • Interact with various technical discipline leads to understand and communicate issues and conflictsthat may impact the budget
  • Ensure implementation of policies, procedures and plans regarding cost managementof capital projects with multiple funding sources
  • Provide interface support and respond to all requests for all financial information
  • Serve as central receiving point for all financial matters for assigned College(s)
  • Travel to offsite project locations as required
  • Ability to present data to management in an organized manner
  • Exceptional communication skills required
  • Ability to adapt to changing requirements and situations
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work as part of a team
  • Ability to perform in a business environment, maintaining professionalism in all communications anddemeanor
  • Other job related duties or projects as assigned

Minimum Qualifications:

  • BS/BA Degree in Project Management, Construction Management, Business or relateddegree. Additional qualifying experience in excess to the minimum stated above may besubstituted for the required education on a year for year basis
  • 1 - 3 years of experience as a cost analyst
  • Knowledge of theories, principles and practices of cost management

Offered rate of compensation will be based on a variety of non-discriminatory factors, including education, qualifications, experience, and geographic location. The Salary range for this position is $64,000-$79,000.
