Job Description

The Resident Engineer provides the onsite coordination, and direction for construction management and engineering activities. Duties include ensuring the project is on budget, schedule, and the design fits the requirements for the contract. This position will support construction management projects in the Water/Wastewater Sector.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Manage and Administer construction of Water and Wastewater projects, inspection personnel and other quality assurance staff
• Coordinating and scheduling of field inspection staff, daily communication of ongoing field work, decision-making, use tools and processes for multiple projects
• Support program and project controls activities through preparation of daily, weekly, and monthly reports as required
• Act as prime field contact between project contractors and the client’s Construction Manager to build a cooperative partnership between client, contractors and all stakeholders to ensure timely resolution of project issues and the overall success of the project
• Provide input for the redesign of facilities to fit existing field conditions and maintain accurate and timely project records
• Review contractor’s CPM schedule, RFIs, submittals, approve quantity calculations for progress pay estimates and approve and issue contract change orders and associated cost back-up
• Verify contractor is in compliance with contract documents and lead project closeout process
• Performs other duties as required to ensure project success

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Construction Management or related field is required
• Minimum of 8 years of directly relevant experience, including Resident Engineer or related roles (or equivalent working knowledge/experience) working on water and/or wastewater treatment facilities, pump stations, storage facilities, and conveyance pipelines
• Professional Engineer (PE) / Licensed Civil Engineer in the State of California preferred
• Resident Engineer experience on projects valued at $10M and greater
• Accessible to LA, San Bernardino, Riverside and Orange county at all times including weekends and holidays
• Be self-starter, versatile and interested in working on a variety of projects supporting the Water and Wastewater sector

Offered rate of compensation will be based on a variety of non-discriminatory factors, including education, qualifications, experience, and geographic location. The Salary range for this position is $120,000.00-$165,000.00.
