Job and Ideal Candidate:

Specific responsibilities include the following:

Culture & Values: Work actively to infuse Vanguard’s mission and values across the team by reinforcing and encouraging processes, interactions, events and rewards that further the organizational culture. This includes the following:

  • Supporting senior team to provide a positive work environment and invest in their teams
  • Organizing Vanguard events which reinforce culture
  • Being present in the “life of Vanguard” such as staff celebrations, community service events, etc.
  • Handling our systems that assist with team engagement

HR Files, Policies, Benefits

  • Employee files: Ensure files remain up to date and compliant. Provide access to files in accordance with policies. 
  • Workman’s compensation: Manage workman’s compensation claims and oversight of correct claim processing through Pinnacol. Work closely with OSHA officer to handle any claims and streamline processes. Deal with any issues related to claim payment. 
  • Employee benefits: Administer employee benefits, workman’s compensation, PTO, and 401K. Manage relationship with benefits administrators. Review benefits annually and make recommendations to CEO. Work closely with Finance to integrate with payroll.
  • Policies & procedures: Stay up-to-date on HR policies and procedures, including federal and state changes that affect the practice. Evaluate and recommend policies and procedures to supervisor and the Board. Educate managers and providers. Help enforce practice personnel policies and adherence to policies. Keep all notices, forms, and manuals current across offices. Ensure files remain up to date and compliant. 

Team member life cycle

  • Recruiting: Oversee support staff recruiting efforts, working closely with the Talent Development Specialist. Assist with medical provider recruiting.
  • Onboarding: Run background checks and orientation. Meet all new hires to review HR policies, procedures, and benefits. Secure all necessary paperwork and upload to each system.
  •  Professional Development: Handle processes for professional development including training sessions, making sure staff members complete required tests and training, supporting review and feedback processes, etc. Ensure all positions have up-to-date job descriptions. 
  • Compensation & Reviews: Ensure compensation is compliant and competitive. Conduct annual market review of compensation. Oversee performance review process.
  • Terminations & departures: Support administrative aspects of termination process. Conduct exit interviews.

Duties may include other general HR responsibilities.

Requirements

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • At least 4 years of relevant HR experience with a track record of success and progression preferred
  • Oversight over an HR department at a company with 150 employees 
  • HR degree or certification preferred
  • Excellent verbal and written skills
  • Knowledge of Powerpoint, Excel, Word, and ability to learn new programs
  • Strong ability to interact well with others and build productive relationships
  • Absolute discretion regarding personnel matters

Schedule:

This is a full-time position with business hours Monday-Friday, generally 40 hours/week.

This position is based in Northern Colorado Springs. Travel required to each full-time office at least every quarter. May be more frequent if need arises.

Reviews:

Vanguard Skin Specialists believes in providing regular feedback and encouraging professional development. Your first informal review will be approximately 90 days from your date of hire, after that you will be included in the next of our upcoming semi-annual spring or fall review cycles for your formal reviews. This will be your first compensation review, and thereafter your compensation reviews will occur in that cycle (fall or spring) annually.

Compensation & Benefits:

Pay range is $75,000 to $95,000 depending on experience. Other benefits include paid time off, medical, vision, dental, 401K with employer match, opportunity to dance in our annual music video! The position also comes with bereavement pay, Paid Maternity & Bonding Leave, Employee Discounts on products and aesthetic services. 

Physical Working Conditions:

  • This is a desk job surrounded by some great colleagues. Approximately 90% at a desk and 10% movement for office work.
  • Able to drive to various locations in Vanguard geography.
  • Type at least 50 wpm
  • Have great computer skills and the ability to use a calculator, printer, copier, scanner and other office equipment.
  • Be able to communicate verbally and in written format accurately, effectively and frequently.
  • Can identify color on the computer and software used.
