Job and Ideal Candidate:

We have an outstanding billing and finance team, which has a stellar track record while providing great customer service to patients.

• The Coding Specialist will assess submitted procedures and recommend or make adjustments to the CPT, ICD-10, or modifiers to align with proper billing guidelines.
• They will maintain a high-level of accuracy when submitting procedures to the Accounts Receivable Specialists for billing.
• The Coding Specialist will be reviewing provider notes for a high volume of dermatology and/or plastic surgery specialties, averaging around 6 providers each day.
• This position will also self-audit approved charges prior to submitting for billing to ensure proper payer order, attached authorizations/referrals, and accurate coding.
• This position includes responding to telephone and email correspondence by assisting in the resolution of internal and external customer needs.
• The Coding Specialist will assist in maintaining and exceeding the goals set for the following data points: notes approved for billing within 7 days, and 98% coding accuracy.

Requirements

Qualifications:

• Full cycle billing experience is a plus
• Dermatology billing and coding is preferred
• Successful candidates for this job will have strong analytical skills
• Precision, attention to detail, and organization are all critical for the job
• Successful in time management
• Minimum typing speed is 50 wpm
• Proven track record of working well on teams and delivering excellence.
• Excellent verbal and written skills required. Customer service experience a plus.

Schedule:

This is a full-time, 36-hour, position with business hours Monday to Friday. This position is based out of Colorado Springs. This position requires at least 3 in-office working days with the flexibility of 2 remote days, post training completion. 

Reviews:

Vanguard Skin Specialists believes in providing regular feedback and encouraging professional development. Your first informal review will be approximately 90 days from your date of hire, after that you will be included in the next of our upcoming semi-annual spring or fall review cycles for your formal reviews. This will be your first compensation review, and thereafter your compensation reviews will occur in that cycle (fall or spring) annually.

Compensation & Benefits:

Compensation is $24-30 an hour with eligibility for overtime and paid time off. The practice covers a portion of the premium for medical benefits and offers vision, dental, and 401K. The position also comes with Paid Time Off, Graduate School Stipend, bereavement pay, Paid Maternity & Bonding Leave, ACDT Certification Stipend, Employee Discounts on products and aesthetic services. Start date will likely be in November 2022.

Physical Working Conditions:

• Must be able to remain in a stationary position 90%
• The other 10%, occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office printer, etc.
• Operate a computer and other office machinery, such as a calculator, printer, copier, scanner, or fax
• Be able to communicate accurately, effectively, and frequently
• Can identify color on the computer and software used
