Overview

Responsible for billing customer contracts and jobs. The Billing Specialist is also responsible for assisting the Medical Billing Manager with duties required for an efficient operation of the Department. They are cross trained on all department functions and assist others when necessary

Responsibilities

• Communicate with other VRI employees and teams by email, phone, and internal system notes and messages
• Suggest alternative plans or solutions to operational problems
• make independent decisions and deal with confidential information
• Comply with requirements to protect client data, use client data only for the purpose of managing the client’s account with VRI and associated claims
• Comply with VRI and RCM department policies, procedures, job aids, reference materials, memos, notes, videos and other trainings provided
• Meet individual, team and department goals for productivity and quality
• Handle both inbound and outbound phone calls
• Take initiative to seek out duties or to assist others as needed
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• High school diploma/ GED required
• 2- 5 years of related professional experience preferred
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• An energetic pace along with a positive attitude
• Self-motivation and the ability to work independently and with VRI team members
• Proficient in the use of Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Proficient in managing multiple tasks as the same time
