VAL-CO is currently seeking a Staff Accountant to monitor the business activities of the organization through the maintenance and control of financial records. The Staff Accountant will perform advanced accounting functions in the management of the organization's business affairs. Prepare consolidated financial and statistical reports, statement, and recommendations that may have long-term impact on funding for the organization. The Staff Accountant must be skilled in accounting principles as they will be Responsible for a wide variety of general, daily accounting functions, including journal entry.

Starting Salary: $50k- $55k depending on experience

How you'll add value to our team as the Staff Accountant:

• Accounts Receivables, Cash posting, Sales Tax filing, journal entries, account reconciliations, Customer disputes and will provide financial, administrative and clerical services to ensure accuracy and efficiency of operations
• Enter and process payments
• Make collection calls when necessary
• Preparing sales tax reports/sales tax reporting
• Prepare and general ledger account reconciliation
• Apply cash receipts to customer accounts
• Assist in preparing financial reports
• Process and control customer Accounts Receivables
• Effectively resolve Customer disputes
• Payroll processing and preparing journal entries for earnings and deductions

Requirements:

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance
• Must possess strong skills in both oral and written communication
• Must have ability to summarize and present information and findings clearly and concisely
• Must have strong Excel spreadsheet skills
• Ability to work independently, exercise proper judgement, as well as be a key part of a small accounting team
• Ability to maintain confidential information with high degree of integrity, professionalism and discretion
