UTEC, Inc is Hiring a Facilities Supervisor Near Lowell, MA

Job Summary:
The Facilities Supervisor is responsible for oversight of all building, grounds and vehicle management
and maintenance of all property at UTEC’s Lowell, Lawrence and Haverhill sites.

Duties/Responsibilities:
Administrative Management

  • Daily coordination of work to be done by facilities staff
  • Responsible for working with the Executive Assistant in support of setting up program-related site visits with the CEO and other departments.
  • Identify any needs of Facilities, Program, Social Enterprise and Evaluation staff related to office administration, supplies and materials to ensure UTEC runs smoothly
  • Maintain Seasonal open/close requirements for buildings and grounds
  • Develop seasonal maintenance schedules for all UTEC-owned vehicles
  • Oversee the purchase, inspection and registration of any new vehicles that UTEC acquires.
  • On occasion, as requested by the COO and/or CPO, provide support and oversight to UTEC young adults assigned duties related to building development, decoration, maintenance or repair..

Property Management

  • Supervise facilities/maintenance crew and provide oversight to contracted support via Abel Network to regularly execute cleaning procedures through the buildings, including restrooms and other areas, landscaping, watch over maintenance and repair of kitchen Administer daily and weekly cleaning schedules.
  • Coordinate system repairs and monitor performance
  • Manage the maintenance of the buildings, repairs, or contracting maintenance services as needed
  • Manage the maintenance of the vehicles, repairs, or contracting maintenance services as needed
  • Track building upkeep as well as anticipated long- and short-term improvements and maintenance
  • Requesting/tracking certificates for elevators in all buildings, inspections of sprinkler/fire/alarms
  • Work with the director of 2Gen to ensure that 2Gen Center meets all facility requirements for State licensing of a child care facility.
  • Receive all calls from tenants 24/7 and handle any emergencies
  • Ensure all security of building – keys, proper opening/closing/alarms
  • Responsible for Occupancy Permit renewals for all sites
  • Respond to emergency situations or other issues involving all buildings. Report any damage to insurance and manage the claim process.
  • Maintain adequate parts inventory and order items as necessary
  • Oversee snow removal services
  • Manage vehicle issues as they arise such as reporting any accidents to insurance, ensuring vehicles are clean, ensuring gas purchases are well managed and reported and that any parking or driving violations are managed and reported to HR.
  • Ensure facilities and vehicle management activities fall within budgetary guidelines
  • Provide cost estimates to the fiscal team to support annual budget development

Required Skills/Abilities:
Facilities Supervisor

  • Skill in operating computers, applicable word processing, email, calendar, Internet
  • Strong project management skills
  • Must be able to maintain confidentiality
  • Solutions-oriented attitude
  • Strong record-keeping, organization, communication, and customer service (front desk) skills.
  • Ability to work independently
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to operate a telephone and standard office equipment
  • Attention to detail and quality control
  • Clear understanding of standards related to cleaning, upkeep, and safety standards for agency property including facilities, grounds and vehicles
  • A good safe driving record with a valid driver’s license

Education and Experience:

  • 5-7 years experience in a similar role(s)
  • 3 years experience in facilities management

Salary: Salary range is $60,000- $70,000. Benefits include retirement 401K plan, health, and dental (50-85% subsidized), 3 weeks of paid vacation, holiday and paid sick/personal time.
