Utah State University is Hiring a Research Assistant (temporary) Near Price, UT

Overview

Utah State University Price is hiring two temporary part-time research assistants to run computer simulations for the Earth's Ionosphere/Thermosphere system.

Specific duties will include setup and running of models for specified dates, obtaining and processing satellite and ground based measurement data for specific dates, and processing data and model output for plotting and statistics.Other duties will include preparing and uploading models codes to a GitHub repository.

Temporary position from date of hire to end of June 2023, with possible extension to June 2024.

Responsibilities

  • Run various Ionosphere/Thermosphere codes.
  • Retrieve Ionosphere/Thermosphere data from repositories.
  • Plot model results and data.
  • Upload model codes to GitHub.
  • Perform statistical analysis on model results and data.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Working knowledge of Ubuntu Linux.
  • Familiarity with GitHub.
  • Familiarity with Fortran.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of the Ionosphere/Thermosphere system.
