The Packaging Engineering team are the technical experts responsible for the design, construction, and startup of complex packaging equipment projects. As part of a larger engineering team consisting of electrical/controls, process, and capital project management, we work closely with our plant customers, R&D, and Production Services to optimize projects for manufacturing and business needs. Together we are digital champions – leveraging the latest tools and technology in our work and enabling new digital capabilities with our projects. Our goal is to deliver reliable equipment and integrations that exceed startup and safety targets, and help the company grow top and bottom lines. In this role, you will: As a Central Engineering packaging engineer, you will use Clorox engineering principles and Early Management tools to design, modify capability and improve packaging systems in various Clorox manufacturing facilities. You will work as part of multi-functional teams, providing packaging engineering functional expertise for system design, construction, commissioning and start-up. Project work will require travel and is expected to be 30-50% of time as dictated by work assignments. The successful individual will be working autonomously under minimum supervision and direction, and the responsibilities will include, but not be limited to, the following: Using Clorox engineering standards and processes, develop detailed project scope of work and cost estimates related to the design, functional changes, and improvements of manufacturing systems. Coordinate and ensure successful implementation of those changes to manufacturing systems. Perform functions of capital project manager which includes responsibility for the defining overall project scope, cost, schedule, obtaining funding approval, and procurement & construction management. Collaborate with others to define, manage and critically review work products from external engineering firms and from internal engineering improvement initiatives, to provide detailed engineering work and technical leadership. What we look for: Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent experience 5 years of engineering/manufacturing experience is required. Manufacturing Systems Engineering, Lean Manufacturing Principles/application Capital Project Management is preferred. Experience with Packaging Equipment and Systems used for Consumer Packaged Goods is preferred.
