Job Description Position title : Project Controls Specialist (Cost) Location : Clear Lake office Position Reports to : Director Cost Control Summary : Albemarle is seeking a Project controls specialist (Cost) to assist in responsibilities related to cost control, budget control, data management, reporting and the project control systems administration. This position reports directly to the Director of Cost Control. Successful candidate must possess knowledge in the areas of project cost control including, budget control, commitments and actuals, accruals, change management, cost analysis and forecasting, risk and contingency analysis and forecasting. Key Responsibilities Identifies best practices and coordinate the development and implementation of project controls tools and procedures to support these best practices. Interfaces with managers and directors to support decision making. Hands on, detailed analysis and validation of data to ensure accuracy and reasonableness. Assists projects in development and review of metrics and reports so that accurate and timely information can be provided to management and stakeholders. Assists in development of new project control processes and procedures related to budgets, estimates, schedules and roll up of program information. Participates and provides support for internal and external audits. Reviews proposed project budget and scope changes for proper justification and documentation. Troubleshoots project-specific budget, scope, schedule, funding or documentation issues working with project teams. Qualification and experience Minimum 5 years of experience in the business consulting, engineering, or construction industry. Knowledge of standard cost control methods utilized in the execution of various types of projects (EPC, EPCM, Joint Venture, Lump Sum, and T&M) Experience in technical writing is preferred. Working project controls tools and work processes – Power BI, SAP, Primavera, Icarus, etc. Proficiency in MS office tools. Ability to build relationships and communicate across matrix organizations. Candidates must also be able and willing to travel for business needs. Education Requirements Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Construction, or related field preferred.
