Job Description
US Foods is one of the largest food distributors with a culture and history of promoting from within, excellent training programs, and a continuous improvement focus.
Main Ingredients of the Job
  • Communicate with Dispatcher/Router for truck/trailer and door assignments
  • Keep assigned equipment coupled
  • Move trailers between buildings as directed by the Router or Warehouse Supervisor
  • Load, unload, or merge loads between environments
  • Stage shuttle trailers nightly for shuttle drivers
  • Set up trailers for backhaul with tractor and empty pallets
  • Place backhauls in the correct door to be unloaded by the warehouse
  • Make sure all equipment is paired and ready for the next day's deliveries.
  • Work with mechanics nightly
  • Must attend all required company meetings.
  • All other duties as assigned.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to lift/carry/push/pull 20 to 80 lbs. of product repetitively during each shift required
  • Comfortable driving and working in inclement weather conditions
What You Bring to the Table
  • Register to the FMCSA Clearinghouse*
  • Must have valid CDL Class A issued by the state of legal residence with necessary endorsements and DOT qualifications
  • A minimum of six months of commercial driving experience preferred
  • Ability to operate manual transmission preferred; may be required in specific locations
  • Must be able to read and communicate in the English language - able to hold a conversation, understand highway traffic signs and signals, respond to official inquiries, and enter information on reports and records.
